Open data initiatives facing the challenges of global food security. / Iniciativas de datos abiertos frente a los desafíos de la seguridad alimentaria global.

Abstract

The relevance of open data to meet the global challenge of food security is presented through an introduction to the GODAN (Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition) initiative. The participation of INIA (the Spanish National Institute for Research and Technology in Agriculture and Food) in this initiative is also presented, as well as its project to build an agricultural research data repository. Finally, a call is made to join the initiative.
